Scheduling Posts

Setting Up Auto-Scheduling

Auto-scheduling lets you queue up posts in advance and have them published automatically at your chosen times. This feature is available on Starter, Pro, and Agency plans.

To enable auto-scheduling for a location:

  1. Go to Settings > Locations and select the location you want to configure.
  2. Toggle Auto-Schedule to enabled.
  3. Set your preferred posting days and time windows (see next section).
  4. Click Save. Any posts you add to the queue for this location will now publish automatically according to your schedule.

You can configure different schedules for each location. For example, your Houston location might post on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while your Dallas location posts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Choosing Posting Days & Times

When configuring auto-scheduling, you select which days of the week to post and a preferred time window:

  • Posting days — Check the days of the week you want posts to go live. The system will only publish on these days.
  • Time window — Choose a time range (e.g., 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM). The system will publish your next queued post at a random time within this window for a natural posting cadence.
  • Timezone — All times use your location's timezone by default. You can override this in the location settings if needed.

If there are no posts in the queue for a scheduled day, nothing happens. The system simply waits until the next scheduled day with queued content.

Managing the Posting Queue

The posting queue shows all posts waiting to be published. You can manage it from the Schedule tab on your dashboard.

  • Add to queue — When creating a post, choose "Schedule" instead of "Publish Now." The post will be added to the end of the queue.
  • Reorder — Drag and drop posts in the queue to change their publishing order. The post at the top publishes first.
  • Edit queued posts — Click any queued post to edit its content, change the post type, or update the target locations before it publishes.
  • Remove from queue — Delete a queued post if you no longer want it published. This does not count against your monthly post limit.
  • Publish immediately — Override the schedule and publish a queued post right away by clicking the "Publish Now" button.

Best Practices

Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your GBP posting schedule:

  • Post 2-3 times per week — Google rewards active profiles with better visibility. Posting 2-3 times per week keeps your profile fresh without overwhelming your audience.
  • Post during business hours — Posts published during your operating hours tend to get more engagement. Set your time window to align with when your customers are most active.
  • Keep a buffer in the queue — Maintain at least a week of queued posts so your profile stays active even during busy periods.
  • Mix content types — Alternate between UPDATE and OFFER posts to keep your profile dynamic. Share blog content, promotions, tips, and company news.
  • Review your analytics — Check your post performance regularly and adjust your schedule based on what is working. Some days and times may perform better for your specific audience.
